2025年04月02日ﾌﾟﾙﾄﾆｳﾑはｺﾞﾐ──｢再処理大国｣英国の結論1月24日､英国政府は､ｾﾗﾌｨｰﾙﾄﾞ原子力施設にある民生用ﾌﾟﾙﾄﾆｳﾑ約120ﾄﾝの処分方法として､溶解度の低い母材の中に閉じ込めて｢固定化｣し､これを深地下に埋めるという方針を発表した(英文) ｡2005年に｢英国核廃止措置機関（NDA）｣が､破産した｢英国核燃料公社（BNFL)｣にとって代って以来､続けられてきた処分方法の検討にいよいよ決着がついた格好だ｡検討されてきた選択肢は､基本的に､1）無期限貯蔵､2）廃棄物としての処分､3）原子炉の燃料としての使用だ｡ﾌﾟﾙﾄﾆｳﾑをｳﾗﾝと混ぜた｢混合物酸化燃料（MOX燃料）｣を炉で無理やり燃やすのは経済性がなく､実は3）も｢焼却｣というｺﾞﾐ処分の一つの形態だ｡詳しくは…
