2022年10月1日土曜日仮名と漢字先週､｢現代語読み｣をめぐって書いた｡今度は､それを支える理屈をもうすこし付け加える｡古典の原文を現代語表記に置き換える､とりわけ仮名遣いを現代のそれに直す､というのは､この提言の骨子である｡言ってみれば､古典表記の漢字を現代通用のものにするというやり方は､すでに広く受け入れられるようになった｡その方針を仮名に広めただけのことである｡漢字表記が今日の｢通用｣のものになったには､主に二つの要素が働いたと思う｡一つは教育､一つはﾊﾟｿｺﾝ技術の進化｡互いにかなり離れた分野だが､その作用が明かだった｡ともに頻繁に使う漢字を精選し､使う漢字に優先順位をつけるものである｡教育には､統一性､効率性が基礎であり､行き届いた教育を行うものとして必須のものである｡ﾊﾟｿｺﾝの方は､汎用した技術に従い､JIS1､JIS2と工業基準が粛々と制定され､それから漏れたものは結
